One of the most popular bus company plying the Nairobi-Kisii-Migori routes is Nyamira Express. The bus company has been dominant over the years thanks to its pocket friendly fares. Although the buses are not designed for comfort-the seats are squeezed to seat five passengers in a row-they make up for that discomfort by being driven at supersonic speeds.

Details of who the owners of the buses are rather sketchy. It has no one particular owner has the buses are pooled from different investors. One of the owners is the late Ong’era Moturi and Mr Julius Mokaya Ong’era, whose bus was involved in an accident on July 2010.
