Peres Jepchirchir not only broke the London Marathon record but also set a Guinness World Record.

For her triumph and glory, the Kenyan athlete is reported to have pocketed a cool KSh 7,215,844.

For breaking the London Marathon record, Peres will earn a bonus of £100,000 (Ksh16,399,645).

The total earned from her triumph and record stood at KSh 23,615,489.

According to Pulse Sports, she will make more in appearance fees, added to the bonus that will come from her kit sponsor Adidas.

Guinness World Record celebrated the Kenyan star for her achievement in London.

“What a fantastic marathon. Peres Jepchirchir runs the fastest female marathon ever with a time of 02:16:16,” The Guinness World Record said.

The previous world record for a women-only race was 2hrs 17mins 01secs by Mary Jepkosgei Keitany in London in 2017.

The London men’s Marathon was won by Kenyan Alexander Munyao, ahead of 41-year-old track legend Kenenisa Bekele.

Ethiopian icon Bekele was attempting to win the London Marathon for the first time, 20 years after he won the Olympic 10,000m gold medal.

Mutiso’s win meant Kenya retained the men’s title after the late Kelvin Kiptum won it in 2023, while Jepchirchir succeeded Sifan Hassan from the Netherlands who won it last year.
