Joining Ruto Camp
Professor Kisiangani was a resident political analyst at Citizen TV as mentioned earlier where he gave objective views on current political affairs in the country.
This changed when he joined Ruto’s kitchen cabinet think tank.
He was among the 21 professionals incorporated to advise and chart the best way forward of making Ruto’s ‘Hustler’ clarion call of “bottom-up-middle-out economic approach” a reality.
Others professionals worked with Ruto at the highest level included:
Central Bank Governor Prof Njuguna Ndung’u, economist Dr David Ndii, ex-CS Davis Chirchir, ex-Raila Odinga ally Prof Larry Gumbe. Augustine Choge, Kap Kirwok Jason, Dr Mugambi Mureithi, Prof Raphael Munavu, Raila ally turned foe Eliud Owalo and communication expert Barrack Muluka.
Children
Kisiangani’s well known child is the controversial Bella Rodah Kisiang’ani who is steadily following in his father’s footsteps albeit in a different direction.
Unlike her father who is in Ruto’s camp, Rodah took a different direction by joining Raila Odinga’s ODM party. A tweet welcoming her to the party in 2020 read:
“Today we welcomed into the party Madam Bella Rodah Kisiang’ani, daughter of Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani. She is full of energy and got the oomph to help in building a stronger movement..”
Away from politics, Bella is the executive director of Affected Community Integrated Initiatives & Services (ACIIS). The organization promotes “full inclusion of persons with disabilities, particularly adolescent girls and young women”.
The young woman is ACIIS administrator and “manages the organization’s microfinance programs, which provide small loans that enable women with disabilities to start their own small businesses.”
