- Rael Wangari is now the face of Eve Mungai YouTube channel, now renamed Kenya Online Media
- She is a third year university student at Kenyatta University
News of the break up between Eve Mungai and Director Trevor has set tongues wagging on social media platforms. While the couple has maintained silence, the changes to Eve Mungai’s YouTube channel now renamed Kenya Online Media has sparked varied reactions.
At the center of it is Rael Wangari who people seem to think is Eve Mungai’s replacement. This was after she made her debut on the channel days ago introducing it as Kenya Online Media.
Here is what WoK has gathered about Rael Wangari.
Education
Rael is a third year student at Kenyatta University pursuing Health Services Management. From a young age, she knew she wanted to work in the health department until content creation came calling.
Content Creation
Rael is a content creator who began posting content on YouTube and then Tik Tok. She said that YouTube was a tough one and a very humbling experience but consistency is key.
It was during this time that she was spotted by Director Trevor and, thereafter, joined Eve Mungai media in August 2023. While she didn’t appear on camera, she has been working behind the scenes to create content for the channel.
“We had a virtual meeting the day we were drafting how I would work for Mungai Eve and Director Trevor, and I was very overwhelmed and nervous, and she encouraged me to be calm and pointed out what she wanted,” she told Presenter Ali.
Apart from this, she also works with Edgar Obare. She started working for him in September after he put out a post looking for content creators and she applied for the job and got it.
In the interview with Presenter Ali, she said there was no conflict of interest as she adheres to the job description.
Trevor requires four videos from her and for Edgar, she does 10 videos on a weekly basis. She works with a director who helps her with the shooting and editing of some of the videos.
The content creator said she is not replacing Eve Mungai as it is impossible to do so. She is her own person and says Eve was her inspiration starting out.
Interestingly, she has worked at Mungai Eve Media since last year.
“A lot of people thought it was the first time, but I have been working for Mungai Eve Media since last year, and it has been a great experience to work with them; I have learned a lot from Mungai Eve,” she said.
She also got to respect her as they worked together. She described her as a very humble and hardworking person. At Kenya Online Media, her task is giving updates on trending celebrities.
While her passion was always to work in the health sector, currently she is focused on content creation as it is what is paying her bills. She hopes to get to the international level and work with the likes of BBC.
Prior to content creation, Wangari did a couple of odd jobs including selling smokies, clothes and hawking in different hostels.
