Ringtone: Mega Deals With Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta That Earned Me Millions

Kenyan gospel singer Alex Apoko, better known as Ringtone, has been a subject of intrigue and speculation surrounding his immense wealth and opulent lifestyle.

In a earlier appearance on K24 TV’s “Upclose With Betty Kyallo,” the controversial artist disclosed that his fortunes soared dramatically in 2013 after allegedly striking a deal with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to his account, he made an astonishing Ksh500,000 every day for 90 days, amounting to a jaw-dropping Ksh45 million.

“Music pays. I made a lot of money in 2013 when President Uhuru Kenyatta used my song.

“Can you imagine you have a campaign for example 90 days where you are being paid like Ksh500,000 every day? That is a lot of money,” he said.

But, is this tale too good to be true, or is there more to the story?

Ringtone’s rise to fame in the gospel music scene was met with both admiration and skepticism.

While he is known for his catchy tunes and distinct vocal style, some have questioned the authenticity of his financial success, given the competitive nature of the music industry.

Critics argue that his extravagant lifestyle might be a mere facade, designed to portray an image of prosperity.

Multiple times, the popular singer, Pamela, ignited discussions on social media regarding his riches.

In a viral video, Ringtone asserted that he possesses an approximate net worth of Ksh50 billion.

“Net worth yangu yote ni KSh 50 billion. Ukiweza kupiga kama vile nimevalia…saa ya Ksh 10 million, viatu hapa ni Ksh 2 million. Trouser nlinunua kwa off market na Ksh 1.8 million, jacket ni Ksh 500,000.

My neck gold chain is worth Kah 1 million. I bought my top cream sweater at another Ksh 1 million. So if you check my lifestyle, my total net worth can reach Ksh 50 billion, including land, cars and houses,” he bragged.

Moreover, the gospel singer’s mentioned of owning two lavish houses in high-end suburbs raises further questions about the source of his wealth.

In a past interview with Kamene and Jalas, Ringtone, who is known for his extravagant lifestyle, provided insights into the source of his wealth.

Contrary to rumors of engaging in dubious activities like “wash-wash” and land grabbing, the gospel artiste disclosed that he earned his fortune through selling CDs in schools.

He shared that he used to visit various schools across the country, selling his CDs, and on a successful week, he could rake in up to KSh 500,000.

Ringtone asserted that his success was a result of hard work and utilizing his intelligence as an artiste.

He reminisced about meeting Jalas a decade ago when he used to tour around 10 schools each week, earning substantial amounts of money through his CD sales.

Ringtone vehemently denied the allegations that he was involved in any illegal dealings and attributed the rumors to jealousy from others who wished to undermine his success.

According to him, these individuals were merely attempting to bring him down because they couldn’t comprehend or achieve what he had done to succeed.
