Sharon K Mwangi Gets Baptized Weeks After Kagwe Mungai Split

Just weeks after her breakup from singer Kagwe Mungai, content creator Sharon K Mwangi announced that she has been baptized.

The lifestyle blogger shared the news on her Instagram account, showing a video of her being baptised by a pastor in a pool on Saturday, June 22, at the Adullam Ministry, Nairobi.

“3 weeks ago I got baptized and made a public declaration of my faith in Christ. 🤍”, she captioned video.

She indicated that getting baptised was the best decision of her life, sharing it further affirmed her faith journey which she began in 2017 when she gave her life to Christ .

“7 years ago I gave my life to Christ on my bedroom floor. I had reached the end of myself and I cried out to Him after episodes of depression and suicidal thoughts,” she added.

The lifestyle creator explained the significance of why she has decided to get baptized in her adulthood, saying that she missed the chance as a child but it was now appropriate because she was aware of her choice.

“I was conscious of my decision, I knew what it meant, I knew what I was signing up for. I felt alot more aware,” she shared details.

Sharon stated that she felt a shift  that nudged her towards dedicating her life to God, especially because she was fresh out of a lengthy relationship.

“I thought that was gonna happen instantly, it didn’t happen instantly, but over the last 3 weeks I’ve been talking about this with Bree, that we’ve been feeling like an urge or a push to just spend more time, with God, to read the Bible more, to pray more, to just be in his presence” she stated.

The baptism came three weeks after Sharon and musician Kagwe Mungai announced that they were parting ways in early June.

They shared the news with their fans in a joint statement on Friday ,June 6, urging fans to accord them privacy to allow them to heal from the break up.

“You have been a part of our journey and for that, we are incredibly grateful. We want to be transparent with you all even though sharing this publicly feels a little cringe,” the statement read in part.

“The truth is, we have decided to lovingly separate as a couple. Our journey together has been extraordinary, filled with deep love and affection.” the couple stated.

The two further noted that they parted on amicable terms, and would remain good friends assuring that there was no negativity between them.
