Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi is a man charting his political future as the term of his current boss Governor James Ongwae comes to an end.
Not much was known about Maangi until September 2019 when he was featured on a Citizen TV report dubbed the News Makers.
Media personality visited Maangi at his his home in Kisii which he said is worth a whooping KSh 50 million.
It is important to note that the home is not his official residence or it was built by the government, he did it all by himself.
In the interview with Muli, Maangi stated that his compound hosts a guest house and the main house which has a gym, conference room, swimming pool and a garden which serves as a landing spot for aircraft.
He disclosed that he built his house even before joining politics, adding that he has another house in the United States of America where other family members live.
“I built this house before I became deputy governor, it was too expensive for me to build such a house in the US. But I also have a house there where my family stays,” Maangi said.
The Kisii DG has over 20 years of experience in law and marketing both in Kenya and the US.
He has a doctorate in law from William Mitchel College of Law in Minnesota, US.
Maangi also has a diploma from the Kenya School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from The University of Nairobi.
