The Owners Of The Ksh1.6 Billion Golden Life Mall In Nakuru

Nakuru is a fast growing urban center situated in the Rift Valley. It became the fourth city in Kenya after Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. Like any other city, Nakuru has got some of the best and largest shopping malls in the country.

Golden Life Mall

Golden Life Mall is a world class mall situated in Nakuru city along the Nakuru – Eldoret highway. The state of the art mall has two sections – the retail sector that hosts anchor tenants among other tenants and a six storey tower suspended on the mall. The lower ground floor is 39,954 square feet, upper ground floor is 40,891 square feet and first floor measures 38,681 square feet. It has an outdoor garden space suitable for hosting corporate meetings, custom parties, birthday parties, expo and private parties. The mall has attracted both international and local brands such as Origin Coffee restaurant, Nomad Dental Centre clinic, Optica and Chandarana Foodplus supermarket among many others. The mall also offers a wide variety of activities including skating at the rooftop, live extravaganza performances and 9D Virtual reality experiences.

Owners of Golden life mall

The Golden Life Mall Nakuru is wholly owned by the Egerton University Retirement Benefits Scheme. The mall was developed with the aim of tapping into the growing economy of Nakuru city and attracting the over 1,000 vehicles that use the busy Nakuru –Eldoret highway every day. Groundbreaking of the mall begun in 2018 and was finally brought to completion in 2020. While speaking during the groundbreaking ceremonyGolden Life Mall, Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui appreciated the efforts of the investors in the county.

“We will market the mall as part of the landmark buildings in the city. It will also attract diverse investors, including those passing through. I challenge the pension scheme in the devolved units to invest more in housing because I know there is a huge demand for affordable homes that could provide much needed revenue streams for the funds,” he said.

Egerton University Retirement Benefits Scheme is a vehicle by Egerton University staff and workers who put money together to invest in various businesses with the goal of reaping a fortune in terms of profits in their retirement. The vehicle is under the leadership of the Chancellor Dr. Narendra Rameshchandra Raval.
