The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games bring out the best in different sports disciplines among secondary schools in the country. The competitive nature of these games has led to cases of age cheating as every school wants to emerge tops. This article looks at the best girls’ secondary school football teams in Kenya.
THE WIYETA GIRLS’ HIGH
During the 2019 Copa Coca-Cola term two games held in Kisumu, the team beat the Maeni Girls’ to emerge winners in the Under16 games. This is after they scored two goals, against Maeni solitary goal.
Recently, the queens won Sh200,000 in the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom. This is after they emerged the champions together with Laiser hill. They are set to represent Rift Valley region, in the national finals to be held in June 2020, at Bomu Stadium, Mombasa County.
“Words cannot express how happy I feel as a captain. Since Chapa Dimba started we have been chasing the title to no avail and I thank God this time our efforts bore fruit. I have high hopes that come the national finals no matter what team we will face, we shall win,” Diana Musiliri, Wiyeta Captain stated in a recent interview.
NYAKACH GIRLS’ HIGH
Scored 2 goals emerging winners against Itigo Girls’ in the 2019 Term 2 Under19 games.
This made them stars during the Copa-U19 championship held at Moi Stadium, during the 2019 national school games.
KWALE GIRLS’ HIGH
They are the reigning East Africa national football champions. The girls defended their U19 title in 2019 having beaten St. Johns Kaloleni by a solitary goal.
MOI GIRLS’ NANGILI HIGH
The queens won the 2018 Girls’ championship Copa Coca-Cola title, after beating Wiyeta Girls’ 2 against 0. Ms. Noel Oruko and Ivy Chepkurui were the goal scorers.
ARCHBISHOP NJENGA GIRLS’ HIGH
In 2019, during the U20 games, the girls’ team won against the Moi Girls Nangili High. This is after they beat Moi girls 2 goals to nothing during a match held in Kakamega High School, Kakamega County.
The goals were scored by Ms. Violet Wanyonyi and Lavender Murumwa. The two ladies, also reportedly were among the Chapa Dimba team which had been to Spain a while ago.
ST. JOHNS KALOLENI GIRLS
They have been known fluid passing during games. They lost to Kwale Girls U19 but gave a good account for themselves.
Formerly held the U19 title before losing it to Kwale Girls in 2018.

WAA GIRLS’
Crowned as the Coastal Region champions for Chapa Dimba na Safaricom in 2018. The team also produced the best goalkeeper Ms. Susan Oganga during the championships.
Ms. Salama Mariga, the team’s member also walked away with the ‘Golden boots’ award.
