Uasin Gishu Man Rises From Mkokoteni Pusher to KDF Soldier

Silas Koech is a man who has persevered through the challenges life has thrown at him.

Koech from the Cheptiret area, Uasin Gishu County rose From a mkokoteni pusher to a bodaboda operator.

His dreams became reality after he graduated from training as a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier.

According to reports, Koech managed to join the military training courtesy of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim.

“A heartwarming story of Silas Koech from Cheptiret area, Uasin Gishu county who rose From mkokoteni rider to bodaboda operator, and now a KDF officer courtesy of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim. This is indeed a real bottom-up,” Victor Rotich said.

Netizens celebrated the success of Koech by sending him congratulatory messages.

Joy for the family came on Wednesday, May 15 when Erodi graduated from military training at RTS Eldoret.

According to a family friend Alfred Koech, the mother showed determination and commitment to raising her son.

For the mother, it was a proud moment to see her son graduate as a KDF soldier.
