Politicians in Kenyan often tend to keep their families away from the glitz and glamour that comes with the offices they hold. While a good number successfully manage to keep their families under the radar, others have shared news of their families in public or held public events that attracted national interest.

Fiona Achola
Fiona Achola Ngobi is the wife to Jomo Kenyatta, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s firstborn son.
Achola is niece to Defence Cabinet Secretary (CS) Raychelle Omamo and granddaughter to the late former minister for Agriculture William Odongo Omamo.
She holds two Masters Degrees with sources indicating that she is an accountant at a local bank.
The couple held their traditional dowry and wedding ceremony in 2016 in Ichaweri, Gatundu – the first family’s home village.
In November 2017, Achola and Kenyatta welcomed their first child at Agha Khan Hospital, baby Wanjiru, who was named after the first lady Margaret Kenyatta.
The couple welcomed their second born child Baby Uhuru on May 27, 2020, at Nairobi Hospital. He was named after President Kenyatta.

Evelyn Chemtai
Evelyn is the wife to to Nick Ruto, Deputy President William Ruto’s son.
The two got married in an exquisite traditional ceremony held at Windy Ridge in Karen, Nairobi on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
Jimmy and Sherly are former Saint’s schoolmates. They have three children-Mwai Kibaki Jr, Sean Andrew and Emma Ngini.
Yvonne Wambui
Yvonne is the wife to Raila Odinga Jr, son to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The two married back in 2011 at a colorful wedding ceremony that was graced by prominent persons in the country including late President Daniel Arap Moi.
Yvonne is the daughter of retired music boss, Gido Kibukosya and his first wife Anne.
According to reports, Yvonne is an agribusiness advisor.
Wanja Wohoro
Wanja is the wife to Peter Junior Nyong’o, the only son of Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o.
The couple walked down the aisle in July 2020 in a colourful wedding attended by family, friends, among other highly distinguished dignitaries.
