South African dancer Zodwa Wabantu, real name Zodwa Rebecca Libram, is the true definition of controversy. She’s that character who has redefined what boldness is with her raunchy dance moves in skimpy dresses that leave acres of flesh on display. Wabantu was banned from Zimbabwe in 2017 where she had been invited by the same government to make an appearance at the Harare International Carnival event. The decision to cancel her from appearing in the event was instigated by Zimbabwean actor who felt the chance should have been given to one of their own.
Deported From Performing In Zambia
The dancer is in high demand but some governments are seemingly not comfortable with her. Zambia deported the socialite whose provocative performances did not augur well with the conservative country standing. Part of the statement on the reason to deport her read:
“The Council stated that… Zodwa’s performances were not in the public interest and undermined our national values..”
Appearance Fee
Even with her deportation and being banned from appearing in some events outside her country, Zondwa continues to attract more followers across the continent. And she doesn’t come cheap if she is to appear in an event you’ve organized. You will have to cough R35,000 ($2371) in appearance fee alone, exclusive of airtickets, hotel room and other expenses incase its abroad.
Amount Paid For Reality Show
Her reality TV show titled “Zodwa Wabantu Uncensored” was supposed to have premiered on 2 April but has been delayed over what the socialite has said is her busy schedule. The program that will be aired on DStv channel Moja was to fetch Zondwa R1million. This amount has not been paid if what she told MSN is anything to go by:
“It’s going to be 13 episodes. But I won’t shoot a single episode unless half of the amount has been paid into my account. I cannot put my private life out there for nothing.”
“I’m not gonna confirm or deny that. That’s confidential information between me and the producers of the show.”
In another interview with TshisaLIVE, the dancer said the delay had been occasioned by her tight schedule:
“I am used to running my brand and managing everything, which meant that I got busy and haven’t been available as much as I would have liked. We are currently still filming and I am filming this week again, but it has been a challenge to get schedules together. So, the channel told me to relax and they will release it when it is ready.”
House
Zodwa Wabantu is very proud of her achievements. She took to Instagram to share photos of her house in Nelspruit. She said of her house:
“Do you know what is the best thing about my house? I built it from scratch, I own it. I don’t owe the bank or anyone. That house is in my name. It makes me so happy because I now have a home, my home and it’s something I was always told I’d never have.”
“If you grew up like I did, then you will understand how amazing it feels to have a home. I never had one, from the time my mom died, when I was 11. I stayed in other people’s houses but I never really had a home,” the socialite said.
The three-bedroom house has two garages, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living and dining room.

Zondwa was gifted a brand new Audi car DJ Tira and she let the world know via Instagram. Her post read:
“Thank you @djtira Paid up,Cash,no Bank instalments Voshooo Queen Zodwa Wabantu greatful to one Man Dj Tira until i retire
