Good Year For Rainbow Resort Hotel In The Face Of Smear Campaigns

The iconic Rainbow Ruiru Resort dynamism has enabled the hotel to remain in business in the midst of a pandemic and what observers see as a well calculated smear campaign. As hotels closed shop due to Covid-19, Rainbow remained unbowed and even opened a club at their basement that came to be known as Downunder Lounge.

The club has been the talk of town thanks to its futuristic design and a chill-spot for some of the biggest names in the entertainment scene in Kenya.

This success has come at a price. Reports published on this blog late last year that suggested employees were not paid were found to be untrue.

According to the famed hotelier Lawrence Onyiego, disgruntled workers who have either been punished or fired will vent their anger and one way they do this is by engaging in smear campaigns.

“Before you employ a worker, always check with their referees or you may end up employing trouble”, the hotelier shared.

The founder of Rainbow Resort Mr Julius Kamau whose success story has inspired many young Kenyans has not been spared from bad publicity. Talking to this writer on phone, Mr Kamau stated that it was sad some people were being used to spread misinformation without reaching out to him or the management of the hotel for comment.
