The current Principal of Mangu High School is Mr J.M Kuria. He replaced Mr Abraham Githuka whose tenure was largely successful until his retirement.

As hitherto top performing national secondary schools like Starehe Boys Centre are on a downward spiral, the likes of Mang’u High School continue to post excellent results. The board of governors can be credited with this consistency over the years. According to Mang’u’s website, the school has 12 board members and 3 co-opted members.
