KCSE: Teachers Down Tools Demand Shs12 More To Continue Marking Exams

Marking was disrupted after teachers reportedly went on a go slow to demand for better pay, blogger Robert Alai has claimed.

According to the blogger, teachers involved in the marking exercise were demanding an increase per script from the current kes46 to kes68. His tweet that elicited varied reactions from his followers read:

Machakos Girls KCSE marking centre closed. Starehe Girls also on strike and cops deployed at both locations. They want per script fee increased from Ksh 46 to Ksh 68

The situation was contained after the Kenya National Examination Council agreed to pay an additional kes6 to the striking markers.
