AUTOMOBILES ASSOCIATION OF KENYA (AA)

This is currently the best driving school in Kenya. Having over 27 branches countrywide, AA driving school has been operating since 1963. Their headquarters are based at AA building which is off North Airport road. The school not only offers driving lessons but also other training such as;

  • Driving refresher course.
  • Plant & equipment operation assessment.
  • Tertiary Driving Course tailored for already experienced drivers who are practicing.
  • Driver competence proficiency assessment for trained drivers looking for driving jobs.

AA is recognised locally and internationally for its professionalism.

  • Light Vehicle Driving (Class B) Ksh17,500
  • Heavy Commercial Vehicle Driving (Class C) Ksh19,900

SENIORS DRIVING SCHOOL

Seniors Driving school makes it in the list of the top ten best driving schools in the country. It has branches in Dandora, Kayole, Huruma, Dandora, Mlolongo, Kitengela, South B, as well as Thika Road.

The driving schools offers lessons such as Class D (Tractors), Class BCE as well as Class F/G (Motorbikes, etc), Class ART (Trailers), Class I (Earthmovers), Class E. All of the above comprise of unlimited theory plus 31 practical lessons, except for Class BCE which takes 50 practical lessons.

ROCKY DRIVING SCHOOL

Rocky opened its doors to the public early 1990s. It has 23 branches across Kenya.

The school offers driving courses for Class A (Motorbikes), Class B (small cars), Class C (Light trucks), Class D (Passenger vehicles), Class E (Heavy truck), Class F (Disabled persons), and Class G (Plant operation).

For 20 practical lessons, one pays Ksh12,000 or Ksh18,000 for 30 lessons. Found in places like Ngong Road, Buruburu, South C, Kangemi, Westlands, Eastleigh among others. For more information, one can call 0702 552 222. 

PETANNS DRIVING SCHOOL

Its headquarters are based at Capital House next to Ambassador Hotel, Moi Avenue. The school is among the biggest in the capital.

Petanns has branches in Kayole, Ruai, Dandora, Umoja, Buruburu, South B and Kangemi. The school charges depend on the course being offered.

Class A2 (Motorbike) Ksh7,500 for 10 lessons.

Class A3 (Tuk-tuk) Ksh9,500 for 10 lessons.

Class B1 (Small cars) Ksh13,500 for 20 lessons.

Class C1 (Light trucks) Ksh14,500 for 20 lessons.

The charges for various courses include,

Motorbikes (Class A2 Ksh7,300 & Class A3 Ksh 7,300)

Class A2/A3 Motorbike test alone Ksh5,300

Class B (Manual Ksh11,300, Auto Ksh13,300 & Test only Ksh5,300)
