President William Ruto Nominates 11 Cabinet Secretaries

President William Ruto has nominated the first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General. Photo: State House.

President William Ruto on Friday, July 19 at State House released the names of 11 persons he has nominated to the Cabinet.

The President was flanked by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi during the naming of the CSs.

Cabinet Secretaries nominees named by Ruto are:

Kithure Kindiki -Ministry of Interior

Dr Debra Mulongo Barasa – Health

Alice Wahome – Lands

Aden Duale – Defence

Davis Chirchir – Transport

Rebecca Miano – Attorney General

Environment – Soipan Tuya

Education – Julius Migosi

Eric Muriithi – Water

Dr Margaret Ndungu- ICT

Ruto said his government is enhancing, broadening and deepening the national economic turnaround Plan set out in the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

“Consequently, I have started the process of forming a new, broad-based cabinet to assist me in driving the urgently needed and irreversible transformation of our country. I hereby nominate the following first batch of 11 individuals for consideration and approval by the National Assembly for appointment as Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General.” Ruto said.

Ruto on Thursday, July 11 announced the dismissal of all his Cabinet Secretaries except the Deputy President and Prime Cabinet Secretary.

The President said upon reflection, listening keenly to what the people of Kenya have said and after a holistic appraisal of the performance of his Cabinet and its achievements and challenges, he had to make a decision.
