Former news anchor Doreen Majala is pleading with President William Ruto to nominate her as Cabinet Secretary.

The anchor said she is suited for the position of Gender, Culture, The Arts & Heritage.

This after The National Assembly Committee on Appointments rejected Gender nominee Soi Lang’at.

The report tabled by the committee on the floor of the House says the nominee failed to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of key issues touching on her position.

“Under sections 6 (7), 6 (8) and 7 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, the committee observed that Ms Stella Soi Langat failed to demonstrate adequate knowledge of topical, administrative and technical issues touching on the portfolio to which she had been nominated,”

“She lacked the requisite abilities, and qualities to be approved for appointment to the office of Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage.” The report said.

Majala shared her qualifications and added that she has no godfather in politics.

“To whom it may concern, I hereby express my interest in the position of CS, Gender, Culture, The Arts & Heritage. I have an LL.B.(Hons), MBA(StMg) and Candidate LL.M.,(Int’l Law). I have no Godfather nor Handout but CV, Experience and Merit. I’m a cousin to Gen Z. Sincerely,” she said.

Doreen Majala is a trained Lawyer and a consultant in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

The former NTV presenter boasts a vast experience working in the media for various stations and working as a litigator.

The former TV girl has served as a news anchor, producer and reporter with fluency in both English and Swahili.
