Former Inooro TV news anchor Wangechi Wa Muriuki has landed a new role at the Nation Media Group.
On Tuesday, January 28, Muriuki shared a video clip on her Instagram account, wearing a name tag with a lanyard featuring the media house’s logo.
“Home is where the heart is” the visibly excited journalist captioned the post.
This marks her second stint at NMG, where she began her career before moving to KenTV and later Inooro TV.
“Back to where it all started,” she captioned another video.
It is unclear what her new role will be at NTV considering that her during her nine-year tenure at Inooro TV, she anchored news bulletins in the native Kikuyu language.
Wangechi Wa Muriuki was widely recognized for anchoring primetime news, and for co-hosting the Kikuyu vernacular political show Kiririmbi, alongside fellow media personality Mike Njenga. Prior to her promotion to anchoring, she hosted the popular show Irio To Githeri on Inooro TV.
The former news presenter host left the Royal Media Services-owned station in December 2024.
In her farewell post, Wangechi Wa Muriuki expressed her gratitude to her bosses for the opportunity to work at Inooro TV over the years.
She had assured her fans that she was only taking a short career break after which she would return to grace their screens in due course.
Muriuki is the latest talent acquisition by Nation Media Group, following the recent onboarding of former TV anchor Janet Mbugua and media personality and TV host Talia Oyando. Former KTN anchor and Spice FM radio presenter Eric Latiff has also joined NMG, with reports suggesting he will co-host a political show alongside Mbugua and another female colleague.
