Ann Njeri Njoroge: Four Countries Where Little Known Oil Billionaire Owns Businesses

Ann Njeri Njoroge has been making headlines after she found herself in the middle of the disputed Ksh17 billion diesel.

The businesswoman is battling for the cargo of 100,000 metric tonnes of diesel with two oil marketing companies claiming that it berthed at the port of Mombasa from the high seas without her authorisation.

How a little known Ms Njeri would be dealing in billions of shillings and remain relatively unknown has sparked varied reactions from social media users.

Here is her story as told by WoK.

So who is this Ann Njeri Njoroge?

According to her daughter Sarah Wanjiku, the oil ‘baron’ is licensed to import all general goods and has been doing this for the past 33 years.

She was however not licensed to sell. However, the Kenya Ports Authority has claimed the documents by the businesslady are forged.

Ms Njeri has businesses and links in Kenya, Uganda, Dubai, Russia and Israel.

Anns Import and Export Enterprises Ltd

A report on the Daily Nation indicates that Ms Njeri is the sole owner of Anns Import and Export Enterprises Ltd, a company domiciled in Kenya.

A check on the Business Registration Service (BRS) show that the company was incorporated on October 30, 2009

Her import and export business has no website or social media presence, raising questions on how she manages to get clients of some of her products like curios and handicrafts.

The physical office listed on the registration documents-located within Karen Shopping Centre-is also non-existent.

Ms Njeri reportedly is in good books with the Russian refinery that allows her to access any amount of petroleum on order. The oil company, through Zohar Kushnir, confirmed she owns the Ksh17 billion cargo.
