Billionaire Chris Kirubi Flown To US As Health Worsens

Businessman Chris Kirubi who has been fighting colon cancer is in the US to receive specialized, Kahawatungu reports.

According to the blog, Kirubi was flown to the US on Saturday after his conditions deteriorated forcing his handlers to book him in the same hospital he received treatment in the past. This comes days after the billionaire received kes206 million as part of his staggered payment following his sale of the BIC stationery, lighters and shavers franchise to French conglomerate Société BIC, which owns the brand.

The deal that was finalized in 2018 saw Kirubi-through Haco Industries Kenya Limited-paid €6.3 million (Sh719 million). Société BIC went on to announce that Haco was to receive in deferred payment amounting to €9.9 million (Sh1.1 billion) over three years, raising the total compensation to Sh1.8 billion.

CK, as he is popularly known, is said to be on the verge of disposing Capital FM following corner-corner dealings by his employees who have taken advantage of his absence. Kirubi’s daughter has miserably failed in her attempts to revive the radio station.
