The Braeburn Group of International Schools has announced various job openings at its different institutions, urging interested candidates to apply.

The administration has maintained that applicants must  be well versed in English as it is the language of instruction in order to align with international educational standards.

Here are the current vacancies at the institutions:

Braeburn School

Deputy Headteacher Secondary School, Braeburn 

Applicants must apply before February 7, 2025 and include their C.V and a letter with the names and contacts of three referees. The documents should be addressed to: Liz Borwell, Headteacher BGR Secondary at bgrsechead@braeburn.ac.ke

The start date of the job is August 1, 2025.

Early Years Teacher, Braeburn

Applicants must be graduates with a teaching qualification. Experience and expertise in teaching the UK Curriculum would be an added advantage.

School Counselor, Braeside Lavington 

Prospective candidates must meet the following qualifications:

•A bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or equivalent, with at least three (3) years of experience in a busy school setup. Experience in an international school is an added advantage.

•Must be registered/licensed by the Counseling Psychology Board of Kenya and a member of a counseling or psychological association, with any other professional certification.

•Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.

•High emotional and physical resilience to handle crises and trauma, along with demonstrable organizational skills.

•A valid Good Conduct Certificate, issued less than 3 months before the start date.

Candidates will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

•Be available for consultation by pupils and staff during agreed working days and hours.

•Use professional judgment to report serious cases that impact the well-being of pupils or staff to the headteacher(s).

•Report concerns to the DSL or Headteacher, referring serious cases to outside counselors for follow-up with parents.

•Hold group discussions with pupils on various topics, guiding discussions toward positive outcomes, and follow up on cases requiring further one-on-one guidance.

•Organize events such as teen talks, bullying awareness, e-safety, and parent-child communication, and run workshops for staff on handling student issues.

•Attend school events, including parent and staff induction meetings, when requested by the Headteacher.

•Carry out other tasks within your capability as required by the Headteacher.
