Akothee’s younger sister, Elseba Awuor popularly known as Cebbie Koks is married to flashy city lawyer Steve Ogolla. He is a popular lawyer who serves as the managing partner for Saroni and Stevens Advocacy.

Growing up, Ogolla had a difficult upbringing and struggled to raise school fees. He sat for KCSE 3 times before making a breakthrough that enabled him to study law at Moi University. Ogolla once hawked calculators in Nairobi in order to foot his bills.

The lawyer’s proposal to Cebbie Koks happened at Hemingways Hotel, in Nairobi on 16th December.

A video shared on social media shows the two meeting up and Ogolla handing a bouquet of flowers to Koks. They then head for a decorated place with a white prop designed into the words ‘Marry Me’.

Ogolla then sinks to one knee and slides a ring into Kok’s finger. He kisses the knuckles of the left hand which bore the ring as they embrace and then kiss.

Before the proposal, she had hinted of getting married. She had posted on social media that she was soon becoming a wife.

Dear Lord, make me a better wife, better mom, better friend. Establish the foundation of all that I do. Walk ahead of me and be my guider,” she posted.

Frosty Relationship with Akothee

Cebbie Kok’s relationship with her elder sister has always turned out to be a sour one. However, in a past interview with Jalang’o TV, Koks said that it is her sister’s fame which enabled her to establish a brand.

It is her energy that has catapulted me to this level,” she said.

In what appears as a well orchestrated clout chasing allegation, Akothee had spoken of their frosty relationship. She claimed that she they had been broken apart by fame. The musician claimed that  even after battling depression and got admitted, her sister said she was feigning illness.

“I will not break or damage my sister publicly (because) I was not born a vengeful person, I can’t break my own project I actively believed in but I am human. My family failed to intervene several times and the wound in my heart grew bigger.”

“I battled depression for over 6 months, I didn’t know what was eating me, then while in hospital, I received information that my sister said I was pretending, this is what killed me completely,” said Akothee.

In response to the allegations, Cebbie Koks took to Instagram a few days later to thank her followers for reaching out and praying for her. She however avoided mentioning anything to do with their family.
