The long wait is finally over as club Down-Under Lounge is set to open its doors to revellers on 16th October with the grand launch slated for 30th October. Mugithi master Gathee wa Njeri will be the man on the mic to entertain merrymakers. In an exclusive tour granted to Wok team, the club located at the basement of the iconic Rainbow Hotel is a piece of art.

Lighting

The lighting is well thought out as the floor lights are matched to look like a runaway as they dot the grey and white ceramic floor tiles. The walling has been padded with 3D panels which are soundproof and also enhance the beauty of the club. This is the case with the ceiling that has 3D light wallpaper, snake-lights and stage-lights.

Lovers of live performances have a reason to smile. The raised stage, that can accommodate a band, has a decorative laser cut barrier, augmenting the beauty of the club. The dancefloor is big enough to accomodate hundreds of revellers who wish to shake a leg. This will definitely be one of the favourites spots for music lovers.

The sheer size of the Down Under necessitated the need to have two counters. According to the Interior Architect Victor Mungai, one of the counters was purposely put on the far corner to afford revellers some privacy. One can enjoy his drink without any disturbance. The counters have a very interesting design that combine art and practicability.
