Firyal Nur Al Hossain is a fashion guru, model and businesswoman. She is a daughter to Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed and late businessman Khalid Hossain Ahmed.
The young model is based in the United States where she works as a fashion expert and runs her own clothing line.
Being a child of famous and prominent parents, Nur has led her life away from the Kenyan public eye, and created a success path for herself.

Background & Education
She is a daughter to CS Mohamed and the late Hossain. She has one biological brother and four adopted siblings.
Nur spent most of her childhood in Switzerland.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she attended the International School of Geneva and graduated with a High School diploma in 2007.
Between 2008 and 2013, she attended the United States International University (USIU) and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Affairs.
Nur later proceeded to attended Università Bocconi and graduated with a Masters degree in Fashion Direction – Brand & Retail Management.
Career
Between 2007 and 2008, Nur worked as an Operations Manager & Executive Assistant to Direction at Swenergy S.A & Holt Global Ltd.
In 2010 she cofounded a non profit organisation called Badili Kenya with a focus on community awareness, literacy, civic education, and enlightening Kenyan youth on issues affecting their lives. She acted as the company director for two years until 2012.
In 2012, she also had a brief stint as an assistant stylist at Love Magazine. The gig lasted one month.
Between September 2012 and April 2013, Nur interned at the United Nations Environmental Programme.
In 2013, she founded her own clothing line and brand, NUR, with the aim of becoming an internationally renowned bespoke African brand.
Nur’s clothing collection ranges from khanga shorts and cotton shirts to a blend of Ethiopian fabrics and some exotic pieces.
Nur joined globally renowned clothing conglomerate Gucci in October 2016. She first worked as a special projects assistant for its global markets before she was later tranfered to North America on the same capacity.
In 2019, Nur was appointed the Brand and Culture Manager at Gucci and has held the role since. She is tasked with developing creative and innovative ways ro fuel and empower communities and individuals the brand engages with through outreach, programs and initiatives.
Landmarks
Her designs have attracted the attention of famous celebrities across the world. During Paris Fashion Week in 2014, rapper Kanye West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian ordered her design.
Her work has also been featured on top magazines including Zele, Pattern Recognition, LA Fashion, Zen and Fantastic Fall.
Boyfriend
Nur was at one time rumored to be dating President Uhuru Kenyatta son Muhoho Kenyatta who is also a fashion enthusiast.
Emotional tribute to father
Following the death of her father on July 29, the young fashion guru penned a heartfelt message to her father, reminiscing their lives together.
“You are my moon, my sun, my universe, my beginning, my end. Without you I am lost daddy,” she wrote on her Instagram story.
