Hot And Sweet: Lawyers By Profession Turned A-List Celebrities

Long gone are the days when celebrities were perceived as individuals with little education and loose morals. A section of Kenyans who have seriously chewed books are taking over the entertainment industry and making a living out of it. 

In this article, WoK has compiled a list of female celebrities who have trained as lawyers.

Corazon Kwamboka

Corazon Kwamboka is a famous socialite, content creator and influencer with over 864,000 followers on instagram and 27,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She is a trained lawyer and advocate of the High Court of Kenya. After completing her secondary school education at Lwak Girls High School, she joined the prestigious University of Nairobi (UoN), Parklands Law Campus where she graduated in 2013 with a Second Class Honors Upper Division law degree. She then enrolled at the Kenya School of Law (KSL) and eventually got admitted to the Kenyan Bar as an advocate of the High Court in 2016.

Maureen Waititu

Maureen Waititu is another popular content creator with over 650,000 followers on instagram and 63,000 subscribers on YouTube. Upon completing her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, she joined Kenyatta University where she graduated with a law degree in 2014.

She then joined the KSL and later began her career as a legal trainee at LJA Associates. Along the way she took a break from legal practice to bond with her child but somehow as fate would have it, she found fame on the internet and that’s how she stopped practicing law and focused on being a TV Show host, YouTuber and content creator.

Maureen Kunga

Maureen Kunga is a Kenyan YouTuber and musician who is part of the popular Elani band. She has over 276,000 followers on her instagram page and 27,000 subscribers on YouTube. Apart from her flourishing career in content creation and music world, she attended the UoN where she graduated with a law degree. She then joined the KSL and on 4th May 2016 she got admitted to the bar effectively becoming an advocate of the high court of Kenya.

Tabitha Gichere

Tabitha Gichere popularly known as DJ Tabz is a Kenyan gospel DJ, MC and influencer with over 131,000 followers on Instagram. Apart from being good at what she does in the entertainment scene, she attended UoN where she successfully graduated with a law degree. She would then join the KSL in 2012 before gaining admission to the bar in March 2018 and effectively becoming an advocate of the high court of Kenya.

Makena Muriuki

Britney Makena Muriuki is a popular content creator, Youtuber and influencer who has almost 10,000 subscribers on YouTube and five thousand followers on Instagram. Apart from doing quite well in the online space, Makena is currently in her final year at the UoN where she is completing her law degree.
