KRA PIN retrieval requirements
KRA PIN retrieval involves retrieving of the taxpayers KRA PIN Certificate which contains his or her Personal Identification Number (PIN) from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
You only need to have your ID number and Date of Birth (D.O.B) to complete this process.
How to retrieve a KRA PIN certificate
To retrieve a KRA PIN certificate, follow these steps below;
Step 1: Visit KRA portal and click the Register button
Step 2: Select Individual on the Taxpayer Type drop down and Online Form on the Mode of Registration drop down menu and hit Next
Step 3: Select Kenyan as Citizenship the enter your ID Number and Date of Birth
Step 4: You will then visit a cyber cafe and request to retrieve a lost KRA PIN Certificate, and it will cost Ksh 200. The cyber cafe attendant will request your Names, ID Number and Date of Birth
Eventually you will receive your KRA PIN Number and KRA PIN Certificate.
How to download a KRA PIN certificate
To download your KRA PIN certificate, you can follow these steps;
Step 1: Go to the KRA website and click on the iTax tab
Step 2: Log in to your account and click on the Registration tab
Step 3: Click on the “mReprint PIN Certificate button and enter your KRA PIN and password
Step 4: Solve the security question and click on the Submit button
Your KRA PIN certificate will be downloaded to your computer. It is important to keep your KRA PIN certificate in a safe place. You should not share it with anyone else.
