Actress Jackie Matubia says she invested all her savings to make the Toxic YouTube series.

Speaking to the press during the premiere of the show, Matubia said she started the project in December 2023 with money from her savings and no sponsors.

“Why I was crying when I introduced ‘Toxic’ is because of the struggles I have gone through…but when it is a calling, it doesn’t need to make sense to anyone else, just you,” she said.

In a previous interview with Nairobi News, Matubia said the series will be available exclusively on her YouTube channel from April 17 and marks a significant milestone in her career.

“Just got back home and what I’ve been working on is finally up. I saw the picture and just felt emotional and sorry for my ugly cry,” Matubia said.

Matubia said someone has a dream they have to fight for it.

“If you have a dream, work for it. You’ll be surprised by the way that people close to you are the ones making you fight those battles,” she is quoted.

In the interview, Matubia said she sacrificed everything to make her dreams valid.

“I have invested everything I got for this project, and I thank God I made it. I have fought so many battles, I have been called so many names! But I trusted God’s word. He will create a table in front of your enemies. One day I will tell my story,” she said.
