Jamila Mohamed: From Falling In Love With Her Fan, Children, And Highly Successful Career

Jamila Mohamed is a good example of beauty and brains. She has worked her way to the top devoid of scandals associated with a good number of female news anchors. Her dressing is not provocative but she still stands out.

Marriage 

The swahili news anchor love story brewed on TV. Her husband, Ahmed, spotted her when she was presenting news and fell for her.

The couple is blessed with five children; Nasteha, Amin, Mohamed, Abdulhakim, Rahma. Jamila has always kept her family away from the public limelight. The affable news anchor was brought up by a single mother. She has praised her mother Zaynab for making her a better person.

Education 

According to informationcradle, the broadcast journalist scored a B-(minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (KCSE).

The Citizen TV journalist holds a degree in Journalism and Media Studies (Development Communication) and an MA International Conflict Management from University of Nairobi. 

Career 

Her career to the top has been illustrious. Before she joined NTV broadcast division in 2002, Jamila’s life in media started in radio as a reporter and then in news radio in 2000.

At NTV she rose from a senior reporter to a news anchor then became a Swahili news editor. Her dedication to work saw her appointed at the now defunct QTV as the managing editor in 2015. She went on to be appointed as the Manager of Programming and Content at NTV in 2017.

Jamila exited the Aga Khan owned media house in 2018 and joined Royal Media Services in the capacity of Managing Editor and News Anchor. 

Awards 

The journalist won the Somali Glamour Awards for best female media personality of the year in 2018. 

Future Plans 

The broadcast journalist wants to teach practical journalism when she retires from the newsroom. Next
