Karen Nyamu is a popular Kenyan politician and lawyer. She came into the limelight in 2017 after she vied for the Nairobi county woman representative seat. Her beauty did not go unnoticed-she was even dubbed Bae Wa Nai. After losing the seat, she has still remained in the limelight and is active on social media.
Career
The beautiful Karen Nyamu is a lawyer by profession. Her law firm is known as Njeri Nyamu and Co Advocates.
In 2017, she contested for the Nairobi woman representative seat. This brought her to the limelight with many being in awe of her beauty. She was campaigning on a Jubilee party ticket but lost.
She is also a member of the board of directors of the Nairobi water and sewage company.
Marriage
The politician is not married but confessed to Radio Jambo’s Massawe Japanni that she had once dated a violent politician. According to her, this experience, that lasted for two years, soured her view on marriage.
“I don’t believe in marriage when it comes to my life. I love my children but I don’t want to get married. There are good men out there, but I have made that experience from a past experience I went through,” she said.
She said that things were good at first before everything went downhill and the man became violent. However, she did not report the incident since it would have been a waste of time.

Scandal
Karen and Sammy Irungu, known to many by his stage name Samidoh, were in a relationship that they made attempts to keep under wraps. The singer was said to be the father of her unborn baby. This story was an internet sensation for such a long time given the stature of the two individuals in the society. The singer refuted these claims saying he had only one wife and did not wish to have another, especially with the current economy.
However, recently, Karen released a video of Samidoh with her son, once again confirming that he is the father of her child. The musician was forced to take to Facebook and apologize to fans even as he owned up to his responsibility.
“I have put myself and my family in a bad situation. It is true that I had a friendship with Karen Nyamu and it is through this involvement that my innocent child was born,” he stated.
Nyamu responded to Samidoh statement the best way she knows:
“Running away from reality mpaka lini….It was easier to declare the whole truth and not just half of it because you will soon become a slave to apologies…..”
A few online publications have also accused her of having affairs with wealthy men and politicians but none of these claims have been proven.
An article by Ghafla stated that she had once been accused of forgery alongside her partner Philip. They were accused of forging a Barclays Bank of Kenya deposit slip purporting it to be a genuine slip issued by the bank for the purpose of transacting business with Safaricom. When she was contacted, according to Ghafla, she said that was her partner’s doing and she was the victim of an ongoing scheme and has been acquitted by the courts.
