Miss Trudy, real name Getrude Awino Njeri, is a popular lifestyle Kenyan YouTuber. She is married to the immensely popular Ghanaian travel YouTuber Wode Maya. Like fine wine, the content creator has improved her interviewing skills and told the African stories in ways only a master can do. Miss Trudy currently boasts over 260k subscribers and has over 700 videos.

Education
She went to Shinners Girls in Nakuru before proceeding to college.
Family
She is the only girl and last born in a family of three children. Miss Trudy has one surviving parent after the demise of her mother. Her father has been very supportive in her career choice. In fact, she has often narrated how he would often give her transport so as to go and shoot content at the beginning of her YouTube journey.
They have always enjoyed a warm relationship and she is in the process of building her dad a house in the village. Trudy’s father suffers from kidney failure and has to undergo dialysis twice a week. She credits him for being an amazing dad and taking care of all of them single handedly.

Career
Before venturing into YouTube, she was doing sales. Right when she thought she would get a promotion, she was fired from the job.
This got her so stressed, and probably out of boredom, started watching YouTube videos. Seated in her room one day, she decided to take up her phone and record a video. This is how her journey on YouTube began. It was not easy at first and unlike most people who start YouTube and grow with the help of a huge social media following, she had very few followers.
Meeting Wode Maya
As her channel grew, she met popular Ghanaian YouTuber and her current boyfriend Wode Maya. He helped her see content in a different way and encouraged her to put up content every single day if she really wanted to take YouTube seriously. She took the advice and put in a lot of work and it finally paid off.
Her content centres on family, travel and interviewing famous celebrities and entrepreneurs in Kenya. She has traveled to a number of African countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Senegal, Eswatini, Cameroon and South Africa to showcase Africa in a positive way and bringing inspiring content from across Africa. This also includes showcasing different parts of Kenya from the Maasai Mara, Turkana, Kisumu, Nakuru, Nairobi to the coastal region of Kenya.
Popular celebrities and YouTubers who have featured in her channel either for interviews or just for content creation include: Eve Mungai, Wabosha Maxine, Joana Kinuthia, Jalang’o, Alex Mwakideu, Hon. Raila Odinga, Bonfire Adventures co-founder Sara Kabu, Ivy Melania, Dee Mwango, I am Marwa, Betty Kyallo and Vera Sidika.
Miss Trudy was featured in Mr. Seed’s song Ghetto Love as a video vixen. She has also made appearances on several platforms for interviews including on Switch TV and Jalang’o TV.

Relationship
She is newly married to Wode Maya and they travel quite a lot together creating content. Their mission is to showcase African stories in a positive light and to tell the story of Africans from Africans’ perspectives. The two met in 2019 after he had messaged her on Instagram. They met in Ethiopia and, as they say, the rest is history.
