Mwenda Njoka: Meet Ex-Government Press CEO Tapped by MKU Billionaire to Lead Radio 47 and TV47

On Monday, 10th June, 2024, Cape Media, which manages TV47 and Radio47, announced the appointment of Mwenda Njoka as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Njoka, who has over 30 years of experience in the Kenyan media industry, served as the CEO of the Government Press and Government Printer before his appointment.

He was instrumental in modernizing operations and enhancing the efficiency of government publications.

His extensive career also includes an impressive journalistic track record. At Standard Group Media, which owns KTN, he held senior positions such as Managing Editor and Associate Editor, where he earned accolades such as Kenya Journalist of the Year and Investigative Journalist of the Year.

He also served at Nation Media Group, further cementing his reputation as a seasoned journalist.

Throughout his career, Njoka has been recognized for his journalistic excellence, including winning the prestigious Journalist of the Year Award in the Business Category while working for CNN.

Prof. Simon Gicharu, the Board Chairperson of Cape Media, expressed confidence in Njoka’s capabilities.
