Nadia Mukami is a popular Kenyan songstress and songwriter who made her debut in the music industry with the song ‘Barua Ya Siri.’ Before her entry in the music world, Nadia was a great lover of poetry. This is probably what inspires her rich lyrics fused with afro pop beats.

Here is her story as told by WoK.

Age

The singer was born on 9th November 1996 in Pumwani Hospital, Nairobi.

Education

Nadia attended Kari Primary school and sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2009. She joined Mount Laverna School in Kasarani and attained a mean grade of B plus in KCSE. This got her a chance to join Maseno University to pursue a degree in BBA Finance.

Family

The singer comes from a family of five siblings who have a musical background. When she first ventured in the music indudtry, her parents were skeptical. However, seeing how her career took off made them warm towards the idea.

“ When I began singing, my parents, particularly my dad, were disinclined to allow me to seek a career in music. It was till they witnessed me on TV that they resolved to give it a chance and now they are one of my great supporters,” said Nadia in an interview with a local daily.

“ Am writing this with tears in my eyes and they are already swollen coz of crying! I know they say I am a public figure, I need not to show emotions; I will show emotions!!! There isn’t an insult I haven’t received!! All levels of explicit insult,”

This has been a month and of one heartache after another, I swear I have broken down! I am always the strongest among my friends; they say God doesn’t give you something you can’t handle, I wish he didn’t trust me this much every time!! Am (sic) taking a break, I will be back,” wrote Mukami (source: Nairobi Wire).

The bullying started after a woman claimed that the singer failed to honor a debt agreement between them.

Comeback

After taking a break from social media, she came back with some good news. Nadia Mukami had earned the recognition of Black Entertainment Television (BET). The songstress has been selected among the Best African International Acts for this year BET awards. She took to social media to express her joy.

Boyfriend

The award winning songbird has not been spared the pain that comes with a heartbreak. The singer narrated how her boyfriend dumped her for a ‘lightskin’ while she was in her third year. The artist had the illusion that the relationship would end up in marriage but Eric Munene had other ideas. Nadia said she was not able to eat or sleep and cried nonstop. In her own words: I thought that that he was guy who was going to marry me but he didn’t marry me.

“Here I am, I made it.”

In a separate interview, the artist revealed that she’s living a pious life. At the time, she claimed she was a virgin.

Baby daddy

Nadia Mukami  got involved with fellow artist Arrow Bwoy and they have a child together. The relationship is apparently over after what the artist shared on her IG.
