Nick Odhiambo is a Kenyan media personality, renowned for his role on radio, acting and a remarkable voiceover artist.

He boasts over 16 years of experience working in the media industry as a radio presenter.

Background

Nick was born in Nairobi, Mater Hospital to be exact, and grew up in the capital. He was born to a diplomat father. He turned 41 years-old in June 2021.

Education

Nick shares a brief history of his education on his LinkedIn profile.

The veteran radio presenter attended Kanga High School in Migori County, but later transferred to Ruiru High School where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE).

He joined Graffins College in 2005 and later attended African Virtual University where he attained his undergraduate degree.

Career

Nick developed the passion for radio at the age of 15, and at the time, he drew inspiration from a cousin who was already a presenter at Capital FM.

He began his career at Classic FM in October 2006 as a radio presenter. He worked at Classic FM for over a decade until his departure in April 2017.

At Classic, he was tasked with creating, producing and executing radio shows. He also executed adverts and promotional marketing to audiences.

His bold and commanding voice saw him double as a voice over artist for several adverts at the media station.

In April 2017, he moved to Radio Maisha, taking over from Felix Jalang’o who had just departed the media house.

Nick worked at Radio Maisha till 22 June 2021 when he announced his departure on Twitter.

Today’s my final RHUMBA show on air after 4years at Radio Maisha. Did I ever think I’d switch to swahili radio? NOPE but the opportunity came and i took it. transitioning back to english radio in a few days tupige sherehe leo buuuuuurrrdan is burrrdaaan,” Nick Twitted.

He also boasts a career in acting, featuring in some of the country’s local television shows like Auntie Boss.

Family

His present personal life remains elusive to the media, but the veteran presenter was in a somewhat, rocky relationship with ex-fiance’ Jane Mwai.

A series of alleged altercations between the two led to their separation, and they have since kept their lives private.

Nick is a father to a beautiful daughter, whom he has often described as the joy of his life.

He also lost his unborn baby boy whom he named J’lani. The radio presenter shared the heart breaking news on social media, attracting comfort from members of the public.

He has often expressed his pride in being a father, describing the feeling of holding his daughter as the best in the world.

House

Nick owns a lavish house in a gated community in Kiserian. It is near to the Nairobi National Park.
