Osim Country Lodge: Inside The Hotel Owned By David Ole Sankok

The Proprietor 

David Ole Sankok is a former nominated Member of Parliament (MP) representing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the National Assembly of Kenya, having been put into the position by the ruling Jubilee party. He is a former Board Director of The National Government Affirmative Action Fund where he served between 2015 and 2017.

He has previously served as the chairman of various organizations that included the National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD), the Narok Central Business Association (NCBA), the Students organization of Nairobi University (SONU) and FINAD. He holds a Diploma in Medical Research from Bergeon University in Norway, a Bachelor in Medicine and a Bachelor in Surgery from the University of Nairobi. The 44 year old is also the Founder and Director of Osim Country Lodge.

Osim Country Lodge

Osim Country Lodge is a three-star hotel located in Naboisho, Ewaso Ngiro town just 10 kilometers from Narok town. The hotel is accessible by road through the Maasai mara tarmac road and by air through the Keekorok Airstrip which is just 44 kilometers away from the premises. It offers spectacular views of River Ewaso Nyiro – the third longest river in Kenya.

It has a family friendly ambiance and visitors can enjoy a wide selection of foods and drinks, with their speciality being African cuisine. Some of the features of the facility include a 24 hour front desk, ample parking, a modern restaurant, a bar, garden, children’s playground and a comfy lounge.

Guests visiting the premises enjoy a wide variety of activities such as kayaking, sport fishing, hiking, bird watching, camping, boat riding and game drives. Some of the amazing tourist attractions available near the hotel include the Maasai mara game reserve, Mount Suswa conservancy, Ol Kinyei conservancy, Isaaten Siana conservancy and Mara Simba Gate.

Accommodation and prices

In the accommodation segment, each room contains a private bathroom with a hot-water shower and slippers in each unit along with free toiletries. The rooms are fitted with an air conditioner in case it gets hot or cold. A full English/Irish breakfast is served on a daily basis in the morning at the restaurant’s lounge area.

Spending a night in the accommodation segment of the hotel varies depending on the room you choose to book. Here are the prices of an adult spending a night in the various rooms available; Budget single room is Ksh 1,737, Standard double room is Ksh 2,084 to Ksh 2,316, Economy Double Room is Ksh 2,895, Deluxe Double room is Ksh 4,632 to Ksh 5,211 and Family room is Ksh 6,369 to Ksh 6,948.
