Miten Lodhia
Apart from being the CEO of Eldoret Hospital, Miten Lodhia is a founder of Harton Grange Academy. Located along the old Nairobi road in what was once farmhouses, the school offers the British Cambridge Curriculum. Established in September 2019, the school prides itself in offering quality education in both their junior a d senior school.
“I remember struggling to get a good school for my son. I had the option to either transfer him to Nairobi or abroad but I decided to set up a school. Then I started getting a lot of pressure from parents to slowly expand it,” he was quoted by Business Daily.
Norah Ferej
Norah Ferej is a director of Greenvale, a private primary school offering the 8-4-4 curriculum. The school was started in 2006 after the director noted a gap in institutions offering quality education.
They did market research in order to determine whether people wanted an international curriculum or the 8-4-4. Since most were for the 8-4-4, that is exactly what they did.
The school has produced several learners who have shone in the national examinations.
Christopher Khaemba
He is the co-founder of Nova Pioneer Schools. The school has branches in both Kenya and South Africa with the Eldoret Campus having been established in 2019 and opening its doors to learners in 2020. The modern complex is said to have been established within five months in partnership with the Local Authorities Pension Trust Fund (Lap Trust).
According to the director, the school offers the Kenya national curriculum delivered with world class teaching methods aimed at developing the character, capabilities and connection of its students as it prepares them to be leaders and innovators in the 21st century.
Flo Wanyoike
Flo Wanyoike is the executive director of Porter House Academy. This is one of the most reputable primary schools which has for years offers the 8-4-4 curriculum. It has also evolved to keep up with the competency based curriculum. The director was a former geography teacher at Rusiga School Nairobi..
John Green
The list of best schools would not be complete without mentioning Testimony School, one of the oldest in the region. Located in Elgon View and founded in 1981, the school was founded by John Green who had been touched by the plight of two children and decided to set up a children’s home.
This eventually grew to include a school which not only catered for the children from the home but for students from well to do backgrounds. Apart from those paying school fees, there are also learners who pursue Education for free.
