Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has acquired a brand new multi-million luxurious vehicle just months after joining Parliament.

The MP shared the news in an update on his Twitter page where he thanked his constituents for the love and support and for giving him a chance to serve them in Parliament.

Salasya attached a video inspecting his new Toyota Land Cruiser 2016 model and captioned it;

“Finally KDK037 is out and officially handed. Thank you people of #MumiasEast for the amazing trust and love you have in me. I will serve you tirelessly in realizing your dream

“This vehicle belongs to the people of Mumias East. It does not belong to me alone. When you see it, just know it belongs to the people.”

The vehicle is estimated to be worth upwards of Ksh 10 million depending on various factors such as milage. The unit goes for Ksh16.9 million in Toyota Kenya.

For the LC 200, there are two distinct variants, the LC 200 VX Premium and the LC 200 VX; both are mechanically the same but one has more features than the other.

The vehicle uses a 4.5-liter V8 twin-turbo diesel with 232 PS and 615 Nm which is, however, less powerful and torquier than its predecessor LC 300 which has 309 PS and 700 Nm.

Also, the SUV looks more robust and modern using new components for the front and rear ends, including lights, bumpers, a grille at the front and a hood.

The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser is the first in the model’s history equipped with technology designed to help prevent or mitigate collisions and, albeit while under certain circumstances, help protect pedestrians in a collision.

The new Toyota Safety Sense-P system includes Frontal Collision Avoidance, pedestrian protection, Frontal Collision Mitigation (both for speeds below 24 mph), Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

The car comes fully equipped, requiring no options or packages to add premium luxury.

Other standard amenities includes perforated leather trim, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping with memory.

It also features a smart key keyless entry with push-button start, anti-theft security system with engine immobilizer, power moonroof, auto-dimming rearview and side mirrors and a HomeLink universal garage-door/gate opening system among others.
