According to KNBS data, NGO employees earn the highest salaries in Kenya’s private sector, with an average monthly wage of Ksh325,349.
There are over 12000 registered NGOs in Kenya, including Amref, Red Cross, UNICEF, and WHO, among others.
Electricity, Gas, and Steam
Workers in Kenya’s oil and gas industry, electricity, renewable energy, and petroleum retail rank as the second highest paid, with an average monthly salary of Ksh182, 346.
They include jobs like energy engineers, power plant operators, renewable energy technicians, and energy analysts.
Financial and Insurance Activities
Jobs in this category include bankers, financial analysts, investment consultants, insurance agents, actuaries, and accountants. Workers in this sector earn an average monthly salary of Ksh181, 618 according to the KNBS.
Administration and Support Service
Employees in the administrative sector earn a monthly salary of Ksh150, 967. These include workers who hold administrative positions in private firms or companies.

Workers in the professional and scientific sector earn an average monthly salary of Ksh130,961. They include doctors, lawyers, and architects, among others.
