Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru: 33 Year Old Tycoon Owning 18 High End Cars, TV Station Considered One Of The Richest Men In Meru County

Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru is a man of means. This can be evidenced by the long list of cars he drives. Little was known about him until he did an interview with comedian and now Langata MP Felix Odiwuor on Jalang’o TV.

Rodgers Kipembe’s Background

Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru was born and raised in Meru County. He is the son of Tigania East Member of Parliament Lawrence Aburi. His father has also been a member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

He attended Moi Forces Academy before joining Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) where he graduated with a law degree. The father of two is married to Betty Maingi.

Businesses

He started his entrepreneurial journey immediately after completing his university studies by opening a car wash in South C. The business grew to become a magnet for car owners, prompting him to open several others across the city.

After the success of this venture, he went on to open a salvage yard known as Rodgers Place in South B.

The yard which sits in a one acre piece of land can accommodate over 200 wrecked salvage vehicles. According to entrepreneur, he went on to open similar businesses in other parts of the city.

Wema Tosha

He runs a microfinance company known as Wema Tosha that provides loans to local farmers and agribusinesses.

The microfinance company has ten branches spread out across the country. He also has interests in the media industry mainly targeting the Mount Kenya population.

Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru is the owner of the famous Meru TV and Theuri Fm – an upcoming radio station that broadcasts in the Ameru vernacular language.

Politics

He is the Founder and Secretary General of National Ordinary Peoples Empowerment Union (NOPEU).

The political party has an office in Meru county and a second one at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

The political party fielded candidates for MCA, Member of Parliament, Senatorial and Gubernatorial seats in the entire Mount Kenya during the August 9, 2022 general elections.

Although he is interested in politics, Kipembe did not via for any political seat but instead will be in the back to ensure the success of the political party.

Flamboyant Lifestyle

Kipembe doesn’t shy away from flaunting his wealth and expensive lifestyle online. He takes pictures in flashy cars with customised number plates, expensive designer clothes and hanging out in cool and fancy destinations.

During an interview with Jalang’o TV in the #Bonga na Jalas segment, the 33 year old revealed that he owns 18 personal cars including a Porsche Cayenne, Land Rover Discovery, Toyota V8, 3 Range Rovers and 6 Mercedes Benz among others.

He also revealed that he lives in a Multi-million mansion sitting on a 3 acre piece of land in the leafy suburbs of Karen, Nairobi. He also owns a bungalow in his home village of Tigania East, Meru County.
