Police reforms will only be a reality when corruption in the National Police Service (NPS) is tamed. The kind of reforms we are seeing are only superficial; it’s only by slaying corruption in NPS that Kenyans will celebrate a reformed service.
One of the many reforms –and the most recent-is scrapping 12 senior positions. Among the positions that have been rendered obsolete is that of Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD). This in effect makes this article rather redundant but its all good to know how much these law enforcers earned before the changes were announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
So how much were OCPDs being paid before their positions were scrapped?
An OCPD must be in the rank of Superintendent or a senior superintendent to be considered for an appointment in the converted position.
