Sam Gituku is a renowned Kenyan journalist who has become a permanent fixture on Citizen TV. In 2014, he was named the Young Journalist of the Year by the Media Council of Kenya, a testament of his skills and hard work.
Apart from anchoring news, Gituku writes on politics and human interest stories for Royal Media Services digital platform. He is also an excellent interviewer who has sat across many politicians and asked them tough questions.
One of his interviews that trended was when he interviewed Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru. The questions were so heated that the governor snapped at him.

The media personality was born on 14th August 1989.
Education
He holds a Diploma in Accounting from Excel Institute of Professional Studies where he graduated in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Information Studies from Moi University.
In 2015, he graduated with a Masters in Communication Studies from the University of Nairobi alongside other media personalities.
Career
In November 2014, he began his journey with Royal Media Services working as a reporter for Citizen TV. His coverage of the Garissa University Al-Shabaab attack was spot on and many commended the young journalist for his professionalism.
Over the years, the journalist has presented/ anchored news on a number of topics. With speciality in news coverage, research and production, Sam has over seven years experience in political, human interest and crime stories.
Marriage

In 2019, he wedded his long term girlfriend Ivy Waitherero in a beautiful ceremony. Top media personalities including Joe Ageyo, Mark Otani, Mumbi Warui, and Wahiga Mwaura showed up to witness their colleague marry the woman of his dreams.
The ceremony was held at Deliverance Church, Lang’ata while the reception was held at the lush green compound of Nairobi Academy. His wife works also works at Citizen TV as a news director.
