Although Tik -Tok has been around for a while, it has gained a lot of popularity in Kenya during this social distancing period. Many people are sharing videos on the app and recently Azziad Nasenya literally swayed her hips to fame. The beautiful dancer created a Tik – Tok account on August, 2019 and has been sharing her dance videos since then. Within 2 months, her videos had over 2 million views and in February, 2020 she was verified on the app, a feat not many Kenyans have been granted. Azziad’s video trends at a time when Kenyans actually need some entertainment during this gloomy period. She has also attracted the attention of meme lords who’ve created funny memes about her. The bubbly girl is a model, actor and content creator, she has a YouTube channel with over 10k subscribers.

The 20-year-old is a Luhya from Western Kenya. She was born on 16 June, 2000.
Education
The talented dancer attended secondary school at Misikhu Girls Secondary and is currently
pursuing a course in Mass Media at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.
Dance Video and Fame
Dancing to Femmi one and Mejja's song ‘Utawezana,’ actuated her rapid rise to fame. Her beauty, tiny waist, sexy smile and sultry practiced dance moves made her an eye candy to many Kenyans. Many Kenyans actually believed she should have been the video vixen for the song.
The dance video has made the song a hot cake as more and more people are viewing it. It has also prompted others to spring up with their own version of the video.
Nasenya’s fame has given her some wonderful opportunities:

Drawbacks
Ever heard the saying “If you have nothing positive to say then shut up?” well, it seems some people (trolls) heard it the opposite way. While most are congratulating the tik – tok queen, some are busy digging dirt against and criticizing her. Since they can’t fault her dance moves, they’ve decided to fault her looks. They are yapping about her makeup (its too much) and saying she doesn’t look half as good without it. Many Kenyans came to her defense reminding people the reason they love her.
Another challenge the young celebrity faced was having her private number go public. Many opportunistic men wanted a piece of her and bombarded her phone with thousands of texts and calls. This gave her no choice but to change her number.
