According to financialday.co.ke, the hotel is owned by billionaire Francis Koome Njogu who was the Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Energy. Njogu is said to have pocketed Ksh 1.9 billion after Gulf Energy’s 16.4 Bn sellout to multinational energy company Rubis.

The entrepreneur is also related to Frida Njogu, a medic who is the Regional Director of IDinsight, a firm that works with governments and NGO’s towards providing solutions in agriculture, health, education and other crucial sectors.

Alba Hotel is patronized by business people, local and international tourists. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was a regular at this hotel during the 2017 campaign period.
