Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok has been involved in a road accident.

The accident occurred on Monday morning April 15 along the Narok-Kericho Highway.

The accident involved Barchok’s official car, a Toyota Prado and a boda boda rider who was carrying a pillion passenger.

According to a statement from the governor’s office seen by WoK, the governor and the boda boda rider escaped unhurt.

The pillion passenger sustained minor injuries and was admitted to Longisa County Referral Hospital.

“The Governor was not hurt during the accident he has been in the office the whole day and even held a meeting with officials from Diamond Trust Bank,” the governor’s press secretary said.

According to police, the boda boda rider managed to run away from the scene of the accident.

Police have launched a manhunt for him.

“We do not know the whereabouts of the rider as he escaped from the scene after the accident,” police said.

In February, Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah was involved in a road accident.

Omtatah’s car which was heading towards Busia was hit by a truck ascending a hill.

According to reports, the truck was ascending uphill when it developed a brake malfunction and began to roll back hitting Omtatah’s Saloon car on the right side.
