News of Okari and Betty going separate ways was devastating. Social media in-laws were aghast about the news given the status of the then high flying media personalities. The marriage lasted for six months before going south. Okari is now happily married to Naomi Joy. The ever bubbly Betty Kyalo has gone on to date a string of men but remains unattached.
Akothee and Denis Schweizer ‘Omosh’
This was going to be the wedding of the year until Akothee learnt she had married a phony. The singer cum entrepreneur hogged headlines when rumors started circulating online that her husband was a Pakistani who has passed as a Swiss national.
She disputed these reports by insisting that her now ex-lover was indeed from Switzerland.
“Denis Eduard Schweizer was born and raised in Switzerland and Bern in 1988, Pakistan ni wewe na njaa ya kwenu,” she shared.
“I walked out of that relationship back in June. We had to pack our bags out of that relationship because it was not a relationship. I’m one person who doesn’t force issues. When it is not working for me, it is not just working.
“I normally walk out of my relationships when I am still in the relationship. When I was on my honeymoon I found out some things that I could not keep up with. In July he asked me if I would leave him, but I told him, no baby, I love you but I had already left,” she shared on her Tik Tok account.
Nelly Oaks has since taken over the void left by ‘Omosh’.
Phil Director and Kate Actress
This was that one relationship that should not have collapsed. Phil Karanja seems like an easy going person who will never raise his voice to a woman, let alone his wife. Kate Actress hinted in a past interview that her relationship with Phil’s mother was not rosy.
In 2021, Kate Actress was heaping praises to her now ex. Her birthday message to Phile read,

Willis Raburu and Marya Prude
He is the best in his game. Willis Raburu made 10 over 10 on Citizen TV a must watch. His energy and how easily he gelled with his audience made him one of the most bankable celebrity ‘journalists’. But it is the break-up with Marya Prude that made headlines.
While Raburu seems to have moved on, Marya remains pained by losing a child and a husband.
Alfred Mutua and Lilian Ng’ang’a
This was akin to a fairy tale relationship. Lilian lived the life preserved for the rich and famous. She had a chase car when going for official county functions and she seemed genuinely content.
The beauty was the perfect match for the then Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua, now the Tourism CS. Then all went south.
