Diana Marua: From Migori To Becoming One Of The Most Influential Female Celebrity In Kenya

  • Diana Marua (born in 1988) is a Kenyan celebrity, content creator, rapper and former reality TV star

Diana Marua is a Kenyan celebrity, content creator, a former reality TV star and now a rapper. She first came into the limelight after featuring in Bahati’s music video of the song “Mapenzi.”

The celebrity has since gained a lot of admirers and haters in almost equal measure. Diana has time and again been a victim of trolls but that has never stopped her from being who she is.

In the past, she trended after admitting to lying to Bahati that she was at her grandmother’s house yet she was with another man, during a truth or dare video. However, she clarified she has never cheated on him.

Away from all this, who is Diana Marua?

Age

She was born in 1988 in Migori county.

Education

The gorgeous celebrity holds an accountancy certificate from KCA and a Diploma in Information Technology. She also attended St. Paul’s University for a diploma in professional marketing and communication.

Marriage

Diana is married to Kevin Mbuvi, alias Bahati, who is an award winning musician. The couple met when Bahati was looking for a video vixen for his music video.

They clicked and started off as friends before becoming lovers. The relationship has been enveloped with controversy due to Diana being two years older than the singer and others thinking she is only after his money.

In a past interview with True Love Diana stated she is with the singer for love and not money.

“ Others say I want him for the money. If it was about money I would be with well-off people I have dated who would have offered me a lot, including cars. With Bahati, I asked God for someone who would love me genuinely and Bahati was the man I knew I wanted to grow and build a legacy with,” said Diana.

Before Diana met Bahati, she was a party animal. Being with the artist helped her settle down as she once revealed on K24’s Upclose on Weekend with Betty:

“ Of course before I met Bahati I was of the world ile proper. I never used to go to church. My life used to start on Thursday halafu tunamaliza Monday hapo ndio tunatoa high heels. The whole weekend road trips, twende Naivasha…..” said the celebrity

Speaking to Massawe Jappani of Radio Jambo, Diana said most people thought she was Bahati’s aunty due to their age difference.

“I am only 2 years older than Bahati. In the beginning, it used to get to me but what matters right now is how he takes care of me. He makes me comfortable. He is the head of the house regardless of my age, I respect that boundary. I respect him as a husband,” she said.

The two officially got married in 2017 in an invite only ceremony held at Diana Marua’s parents place.

Children

The love birds are blessed with three biological children. Haven, a girl, was born in 2018 during Valentine’s day, a boy named Majesty who was born in 2019 and the last born Malaika (2022). She is also a step-mother to Mueni and they have an adopted son named Morgan.

Family

Diana Marua was born to a Luo father and a Kikuyu mother. Her father worked in a hospital while her mum was a housewife. In an interview published online by Magzter, she revealed that her mother left when she was young.

“My mum left when I was 6 years old. I do not remember much about her in those earlier days except that she used to love watching The bold and the Beautiful soap opera. I would paint her hair as she watched it,” said Diana

“You know I don’t think my mum was ever happy. I remember she used to cry and shika tama (be pensive) a lot. The home environment was tough. My father was extremely violent. I remember a time when he came home late and angry and started raining blows on my mum while she was breastfeeding my younger sister……….” She told the online publication.

Diana and her two younger sisters were left without a mother and she had to assume the role of a mother to her sisters.

Joseph Omachi, her father, is a leading cancer advocate fighting against stigma for cancer patients.

Scandals

Her past life seems to be catching up with her if stories shared on social media platforms have an ounce of truth. She has been linked to footballer Victor Wanyama and most recently to comedian Jalango’s boys club.

The boys club was outed for using young women. That said, she been  romantically linked to any of those men but social media users can’t stop casting aspersion towards her character.

Career

Diana has had a successful career working for various companies under different capacities.

She was a data and statistics analyst at KEMRI from 2010 to 2011.

From 2011 to 2014, she was assistant HR and admin at Neo.

In 2014, she joined Bio Foods Limited as a key account executive. Bio foods are a preeminent company brand of functional dairy foods.
