Twenty-four-year-old Abdulrahman Banza has defied odds from scoring a D- in the Kenya certificate of secondary Education (KCSE) to landing a well paying job as a nurse.

While narrating his journey to success during a recent interview with Tuko.co.ke, Abdulrahman revealed that despite his high school years being marked by average academic performance, he regularly excelled in sports, particularly rugby.

However, his final year took an unexpected and challenging turn when he and his rugby teammates were suspended following allegations of plotting a strike.

Despite being innocent, Abdulrahman faced a two-week suspension that left his academic future in jeopardy.

Eventually, after the end of his suspension, he was allowed to return to school but had to repeat Form 3 and sit for his final exams separately from his peers.
