Kenyan Celebrities Owning Multimillion Mansions In Kitengela

Kitengela is a fast growing suburb situated in Kajiado county. The neighbourhood has become increasingly popular with homebuyers looking for affordable land not too far from Nairobi.

Jalang’o’s House

Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o is a popular Kenyan comedian, radio presenter and currently serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Langata constituency. Jalango owns a multi million mansion in Kitengela which is in its final stages of completion. The comedian turned politician has been sharing details and progress of the mansion in his YouTube channel dubbed ‘Jenga na Alex Na Jalas.’ 

Prominent Kenyans Who Own Multimillion Mansions In Kitengela

Alex Mwakideu

Alex Mwakideu is a popular Radio Presenter works as a Breakfast show radio presenter. Mwakideu also embarked on a journey of building his mansion at the same time as his close friend, Jalang’o.

The two had acquired the land together and decided to construct the mansions that look alike under one fence.

Unlike Jalango, Mwakideu has other investments in Kitengela including a car wash dubbed Pampered Car Wash and a Swahili themed restaurant named ‘Pampered In restaurant.’

Cleophas Malala

Cleophas Malala is a renowned Kenyan politician who served as the senator for Kakamega county from 2017 to 2022 before he failed in his bid to become governor in the last general elections.

Apart from his home in Lurambi constituency, Kakamega county, the politician lives in a multi million mansion in Kitengela where he camps while in Nairobi. The mansion was first brought to the limelight in August 2020 after the DCI officers raided his home seeking to arrest him.

This was during the heated debate in the senate over the third generation revenue sharing bill. Malala claimed that the state was using the DCI to intimidate him to change his stand.

The mansion is part of 78 mansions of the Royal Finesse estate located in the Acacia area of Kitengela. It is a five-bedroom house all-ensuite with a detached servant quarter.

Other amenities in the estate include a gym, CCTV cameras, backup generator, swimming pool, borehole, manicured lawns, basketball court and a perimeter wall with electric fencing.

Fred Obachi

The veteran journalist has one of the best chill spots in Kitengela known as Fred’s Ranch. His mansion borders his residence. He rears cows and does farming on his expansive farm.

Massawe and Tom Jappani

Massawe Jappani is a popular mid-morning radio host at Radio Jambo. She is married to Tom Jappani who is the head of Standard Media Group owned radio stations.

The couple constructed a state-of-the-art home in Kitengela in 2016 where they have been living with their children since then.

The two storey mansion is painted green and white on the outside with beautiful flowers surrounding it. It has a well-manicured lawn which acts as the playground for their three daughters. 

Oga Obinna

He is a popular comedian, content creator and radio presenter who currently works under Radio Africa Group as a breakfast show co-host at Kiss FM.

Apart from his famous two-bedroom house situated in the outskirts of Kisumu town, the comedian reportedly acquired land in Kitengela in 2021 where he is constructing a multi million mansion.

In an instagram post in 2021, the comedian posted pictures of fundis taking measurements and disclosed that he had started the journey of building his mansion.

A few days later he posted another picture while standing on top of building materials and captioned it, ‘The first step is the hardest.’ Although he stopped updating the progress of the house, sources close to this writer understand that the mansion is almost complete.
