Yallo Residency: Inside The Luxurious Cottage Owned By Betty Kyalo’s Sister In Tigoni

Mercy Kyalo is a renowned entrepreneur who serves as the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yallo Leather – a company that produces leather goods such as laptop bags and handbags. She came to the limelight through her sister Betty Kyalo, who is a renowned media personality with successful career stints at KTN and K24.

In this article, WoK takes you inside Mercy Kyallo’s luxurious cottage house in Tigoni christened Yallo Residency.

Yallo Residency

Mercy Kyallo recently renovated a beautiful 1970’s 5 bedroom bungalow, into a modern country style home which she nicknamed ‘The Yallo Residency.’ The house is located in Riara Ridge in Tigoni, just 40 minutes drive from the city. The house is located in a small neighbourhood that surrounded by large tea estates with rich history. The alluring landscape leaves a lasting impression. The neighbourhood has an altitude of 2,040 metres above sea level which means misty mornings and foggy afternoons are inevitable.

Inside Yallo Residency

The balcony has a sofa seat where you can relax with visitor or just lazy around while enjoying reading a book. The living room is simply astounding. It is painted light green on the with a beautiful art piece and a clock hanging the wall.

“I have decorated here with beautiful art pieces collected across the country during my travels and so it’s just a beautiful place to sit and look at anything,” she said during a house tour video that aired on her YouTube channel.

It has two green leather sofa seats and a huge flat screen television mounted on the wall. The magnificent chandelier lights up the space giving it a bright and beautiful look. Near the television is a small book shelf.

The Dining Area

Next to the living room is the dining area which has a theme of safari cum vintage theme. It has a rectangular wooden table with six beautiful chairs. Next to the dining table is a huge window that allows natural light to flow in giving it an outdoor feel. You can have your meal at the table while enjoying the spectacular view of the tea estates in the neighbourhood. On the wall is a beautiful mirror that makes the place look even more spacious. There is also an outdoor dining area where you can sit and enjoy a meal in the compound.

“And we definitely love to eat outside any chance we get to so that we can enjoy the sun and the beautiful environment,” she said.

The Bedrooms

The master bedroom has huge king size bed neatly covered with clean, floral beddings. The wall is painted cream with one side having a beautiful wallpaper that makes the room even more spectacular. In front of the bed is a huge window that directly allows natural light to flow in during the day. It comes with a bathroom which is Moroccan inspired with walls painted mustard yellow, roman style tiles and the brass coloured tub. The second bedroom is minimalist with a small bed and a beautiful wallpaper on the wall. A green natural plant is placed right next to the bed and a huge window overlooking the lush tea estates. The house has two guest bedrooms with large comfy beds that can accommodate up to six visitors.
