The model agency she worked with thought she was a very good actress. What followed was a series of auditions for various roles. For two years, she attended auditions without being casted in a single drama. She even auditioned for MTV Shuga more than once. At some point, she thought of quitting but first she auditioned for a role in Sumu la Penzi. Joyce had decided it would be her last and as luck would have it she got in. Not only did she get to act in the romantic drama series, but she also became a main cast.

Joyce also got the chance to play Collete on the award winning drama series Selina. She has also been featured in other films, such as Disconnect, Neophobia, Monica and Aisha.

Engagement and breakup

The show host was in a relationship with fellow Switch TV media personality Tony Kwalanda. Tony proposed to her during the Switch TV anniversary party late last year and she said yes. The two later went their separate ways.

Their breakup came as a shock to many fans and Joyce later said she’d never post her man on social media again.

“I have posted my man on social media and I am never going to do it again I took my pictures down but he still has my pictures I don’t know why. Most of mine were Insta Stories and they disappeared, by the time I was joining Switch TV I didn’t know people cared about my life like that,” she said.

She added that her relationship with Kwalanda was non toxic unlike others she had before.
